Wycinanka
type something here
This tool was developed to build traditional Polish folk patterns around live text. Typing in the field above grows stems, leaves and cut-out motifs that adapt to the shape of each word.
The algorithm was later adapted to work without text input. New compositions grow and dissolve in a continuous cycle, combining branches, leaves and folk motifs.
Custom SVG illustrations
A series of custom SVG illustrations was created for these experiments. Above is a selection of the flowers, leaves and folk motifs used by the system to build each pattern.
